Dasboot will create a bootable USB version of the Snow Leopard installer disk, FWIW, but that's all. I could not - after more than 12 attempts - get this software to create a bootable DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro USB drive. When I looked at the USB drive contents everything appeared to me as a bootable drive would but it just did not show up as a bootable drive when holding the Option key on my iMac running 10.0.6. Holding the Option key to restart, the USB drive shows up only as a storage device. When I click to select the device the mouse locks up and the Mac restarts. There's supposed to be a Subrosasoft launcher that comes up first if this concept worked but it never does. I even ran DiskWarrior v4.0 on the finished USB drive and it found directory errors which I fixed but still did no good. The USB drive must be formatted correctly, fwiw, to have a GUID partition table which is needed to boot from the device. I'd like to hear what I've not done correctly! I'd give the software 5 stars if it worked on DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro but since it only makes a bootable Mac OS X drive for now I'll give it a 3-star rating. Dasboot is free, however so that helps.

Moving on from my previous post, I still cannot get this seemingly worthless piece of software to work properly; what a waste of time and effort! A pity because on paper it seemed to be a good idea .... The developers comments are conspicuous by their absence from this forum! voicebox

Like a lot of other folks here, I cannot get this software to work! I have a 24" iMac running 10.6.4 I downloaded and installed DasBoot 2.0. I then mounted a Flashdrive and opened DasBoot -it failed to see the Flashdrive! I keep getting the message 'Please insert a valid CD or DVD to use as the source disk' According to the publicity, it should work with a Flashdrive What am I doing wrong? Any ideas would be welcome! voicebox

Same here, will not boot from a USB stick, tried every way to boot from it, it will show if I hold down option key, but when selected it just freezes the Mac, and if selected in the Startup Disk it goes around in cycles like NICMART said. Real shame, would have liked to have had this available as Disk Warrior isn't ready for my new 2010 Mac mini.
